Huntridge Circle Park Canvas... Today...

Well the community is coming together to discuss the long closure of Huntridge Circle Park. A contentious decision that was made by city leaders to avoid problems that arose after a homeless man was killed at the park several years ago. The "canvass" will take place today at the Arts Factory in 18b (arts district). The details are below.

Refreshments will be served
The Arts Factory Bar + Bistro Garden

107 E Charleston Blvd 89104

Co-Chairs: Nevada State Senator David Parks, County Commissioner Chris Giunchigliani, Bob Bellis, Wes Myles, Debra Heiser, Kelly McFarlane-Smith, Brian “Paco” Alvarez, “Princess” Anne Mulford, Jack Levine, The Nevada Youth Coalition, Stonewall Democrats of Southern Nevada and Organizing for America.

Special Guest Speaker: Nevada State Senator Ruben Kihuen

Circle Park has been closed for over two years depriving the surrounding neighborhood of a restful place to enjoy the best of what Downtown Las Vegas has to offer. This canvass will bring together local activists, homeowners, apartment dwellers and business owners to get a clear idea of how the people most affected by the park closure would like to proceed in regards to reopening Circle Park. Options include having the park be a place for families as a children’s park or providing a place for “man’s best friend” and his humans to enjoy a day in the sun.
