The Smith Center goes Wicked...

Just when you thought things could not get any better at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts, Myron Martin and his team announce the Broadway smash hit musical "Wicked" as the opening act for 2012. The Smith Center is not even open yet and they are making fabulous waves with an awesome announcement. With hundreds of people in attendance, basically a whose who of Las Vegas' intelligentsia, performers from the show sang two amazing songs from the musical, the last being the hit "For Good."

It was barely three weeks ago, in New York City, that I handed my mother a copy of the novel so she could enjoy. In Spanish no less! And who would have thought that I would be writing about the show coming to Las Vegas a few weeks later. Serendipity? Perhaps...

It is without any doubt that Wicked will take Vegas by storm and demonstrate to the world that yes Las Vegas is ready to host a world renowned Broadway Show and make it a huge success. By opening at the Smith Center the show will hearken a new era in Las Vegas' Cultural Arts that will finally bring this community into the league of great cities.
