Huntridge Circle Park... A Photo Essay by Desiree Duncan...

This photo essay was completed a few days ago by Downtown Denizen Desiree Duncan. As she and her partner Crystal were taking photos of Huntridge Circle Park, within 5 minutes City Marshals descended to inform her that the park was closed and asked them to leave. Though everyone in the neighborhood, myself included, know that the parks closure is a prime example of an aspect of dysfunctional city government, what is our responsibility as residents to make sure that this does not happen again? Not all city government decisions are as poor as this one but we do have to ask the question why?

As you will see in the photos that were taken by Desiree the park is beautifully maintained. The grass is well kept and watered and the facilities are practically brand new. As the summer ends and fall descends upon our city this is the perfect season for all of us to go and enjoy this wonderful park. Why should we wait until a new city council person is elected for us to have our park back? Why should we wait for a new war memorial to be built? The park is ready for us NOW and we want to enjoy it...
