December 2006 First Friday - Better Late Than Never

2006 2007 Winter Schedule: Dec 1, Jan 5, Feb 2

The family's left, the leftover turkey tryptophan's worn off and what do you have to look forward to between now and the next holiday? Why, First Friday, of course! It's the best excuse December 1 has to offer to get you out of the house, out on the bustling streets of Downtown and into art galleries and tents where you can find unique gifts for your loved ones.

There will be all kinds of entertainment, like music from Killian's Angels and the Southern Nevada Lamplight Carolers. Plus, the Las Vegas Chess Club will be hosting a life-size exhibition game. Check out the ART 4 AIDS exhibit at 1540 S. Commerce Street, featuring work by Nick San Pedro, Michael Wardle, Jennifer Main, Denise R. Duarte and others on the theme of HIV/Aids in honor of World Aids Day. Net proceeds will benefit Positive Vegas and the Nevada Aids Project. And while you're down there, be sure to stop by MTZC at Commerce Street Studios for the LVSK8 Deuce, which features a group of hand-painted skateboard decks. And of course be sure and try some of the great food and beverage offerings that Downtown has to offer, from Casa Don Juan to Dona Marias to Art Bar and Dino's.

Commerce Street Studios and Funk House information table --We have 25 passes for 2 to "Bodies" http://www.bodiestheexhibition.com/ exhibit and 25 passes for 2 to the "Titanic" exhibit. These will be given out beginning at 6pm (NO EARLIER) until they are gone. ONLY ONE pass per person.
