Downtown notes & a few thoughts...

The progress that has been happening in Downtown has been quite notable so I have decided to share some of the notes that I have taken over the last few days of my goings-on-about-town. The photos were taken with my phone so please bare with the quality. As you can see Downtown is quite vibrant and a great place to live, work and play.

Okay okay, I know I sound like the chamber of commerce but I like living down here what can I say. Speaking of the chamber, why are they not Downtown? In the 1950's the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce and its trusty publicity arm the Las Vegas News Bureau (wink) was located two blocks east of the Arts Factory, right smack in the middle of what is the Arts District today. The chamber was located on the corner of Charleston and 4th Street. Now they are located in some mall on the far south end of the Strip. Hummm...

- With decent and calm weather First Friday hosted the masses as young and old alike 
came down and enjoyed the evening. 
- Arts Factory hosted a cadre of artists and some great nosh at Bar + Bistro
- Ballet action outside of Gainsburg Studio

going strong at S2 Art Center
- Retro Vegas artist Grant Riley
- Casa Don Juan for Mexican Fare
