A Spectacular Phantom Holiday Concert December 18

City Of Las Vegas Downtown Cultural Series Offers Free Courthouse Concert At Noon

Everyone is invited to enjoy a free concert of holiday music by cast members of “Phantom –The Las Vegas Spectacular” on Friday, Dec. 18, from noon to 1 p.m. in the Lloyd D. George Federal Courthouse jury assembly room, 333 Las Vegas Blvd. South. Performers will include Elena Jeanne Batman (Carlotta Guidicelli), Larry Wayne Morbitt (Ubaldo Piangi), Marc Cedric Smith (Don Attilio/Passarino), Tina Walsh (Madame Giry) and William Waldrop (music director and pianist).

The quartet will perform classical and pop music Christmas favorites, including “Ding Dong Merrily on High,” “Lo! How a Rose E’er Blooming,” “Pavane for a Silent Night,” “Gesu Bambino,” “Gloria,” “Believe,” “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “Where Are You Christmas?” and many others.

Batman has performed with the New York City Opera and on Broadway as Carlotta in “Phantom of the Opera.” Recently she was a special envoy, invited guest soloist and teacher in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. Currently she is a candidate at Northwestern University for a doctorate in music.

Morbitt performed on Broadway in the “Phantom” production for seven years as Piangi before joining the Las Vegas cast. He has performed with opera companies and symphonies throughout the country, as well as in musical theatre and for special events and conventions.

Smith has performed with symphonies and opera companies worldwide. He also toured extensively as part of the musical theatre cast of “Show Boat.”

Walsh was well-known as a Las Vegas performer before joining the Phantom company. She performed in the original company of Mamma Mia! Las Vegas, EFX! and a host of other shows on the Las Vegas Strip, and is recognized widely from her voice-over and commercial work.

Waldrop is the current assistant conductor for “Phantom – The Las Vegas Spectacular,” and musical director for several Las Vegas area concerts and recent musical theatre national tours. He has a master’s degree from The Peabody Conservatory of Music.
