Friday Night in 18b... Neon Reverb & the Urban Arts...

Well Neon Reverb is well underway in the Radiant City with lots of great musical acts to rock the evening away. But tonight's concerts and festivities include a Graffiti on Canvas show at the Gypsy Den. I make no qualms when I say I am a huge proponent and supporter of the urban arts especially graffiti. As many know in 2008 I curated Beneath the Neon: The Exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Center http://www.lasvegascac.org/exhibitions/beneath.html and graffiti was a large component of the show. The aesthetic of the aerosol can is a serious medium and one that should be respected. Graffiti artists are extremely talented and create works of art that can be easily compared to any of the greats from the past. In either case the Graffiti on Canvas Show should not be missed and the fact that it is part of the Neon Reverb Festival makes it all the better.

So please join me in 18b to celebrate Las Vegas' great music scene and some fabulous art too.
