The Arts Factory has been bringing art and music festivals to the
residents of Las Vegas since 1998. Open every day of the week, from the
time we roll out of bed, until the time everyone has gone home.
Some parties are just bigger than others.
There is just SO MUCH to do Downtown this Culture Weekend, we can't
possibly keep up with reporting all of it. But here are just a few of
the great things you can see, do and experience this Preview Thursday,
First Friday, Talky Trees Saturday and Bluegrass Brunch on Sunday!!

BISCUIT STREET PREACHER : Santa Monica
For his 4th solo show in Trifecta, the artist finds a seemingly happier place to spend his mind’s time. Or did he? The mixed-media exhibition tells the story of a recent beach vacation to the famous California pier as told in the way only this storytelling painter can.
Preview the show and meet the artist Thursday May 3, 6:00pm - 8:00pm Refreshments by M.Antoinette 'Legendary Confections'.

Finally Robin Slonina--owner of Skin City Body Painting--is taking brush in hand herself to do the May First Friday body paint demo. The inspiration for the body paint demo this month is the master Surrealist artist Rene Magritte, to be painted on the Vegas showgirl and singer Carolin. Also in the house is the funky sounds of DJ Dan the Man, as well as art exhibits by Steve Horlock, John Gallegos and other local artists.

Danny Roberts celebrates his third solo show at Brett Wesley! In his exhibition “Our Digital Selves” he presents a new series of paintings which explore the impact of the internet and how online phenomenon like Twitter and Facebook are altering our behavior, identity, and pop culture overall. Roberts uses human figures, digital iconography, and dramatic colors as he explores how our behavior is changing the way we interact with each other and the world around us.

CLAY ARTS VEGAS is pleased to announce we will be hosting two events. In our 600 square foot gallery we will be hosting the ceramic art of local artists, including: Thomas Bumblauskas, Michelle Houk, John Gregg, Adam Swang, and Lynda Whitehair. In the educational area we will be hosting we will be hosting CCSD's "FEATS OF CLAY" the annual Clay Olympics. With 10 local Las Vegas High School participating, we are expecting 90 plus local young artists. The events include: MUGATHON, No Hands Throwing, Building a House of Card (made of wet clay), and other live demonstrations of skill. The event is scheduled to start at 4:30pm

Features will be Katie Shipp, Connor Marshall, Kella, and the 2012 LV Slam Team, as well as a send off for Katie Shipp, and a congrats to the new slam team.
What exactly is Talky Trees? It's a 7-hour Arts festival centered around two ideas:
1) Self-expression of the audience such that they and the performers are one and the same! YOU have the gift of art, and we encourage you to realize it.
2) Collaboration between mediums: painters coloring a piece to a poet who then gives his words to the music of others.The artist and the audience? Same people.
This is an art show all about collaboration of all possible mediums. Music, poetry, painting, performance art. What every you are into, bring whatever craft you love and share it with us

Now Every Sunday, Bar+Bistro's Hangover Brunch (named “The Best Brunches in Vegas” Las by Vegas Weekly) becomes Bluegrass Brunch when 'Out of the Desert' stops by to play. A little banjo with your B+B Pancakes is a perfect start to a lovely day.
