Benefit for PLACE @ Alios Gallery on August 6 First Friday...

It is hard enough for people to start and maintain small businesses especially in these current economic times, but when circumstances happen outside of our control this only sets the stage to exasperate the situation. That is exactly what happened to businesses up and down Main Street after an NV Energy transformer exploded on July 11. The damage incurred by some businesses was total and they will have to rebuild while others have been fortunate to have affordable insurance that they could rely on. Some businesses such as PLACE Gallery cannot afford to pay for their deductibles. With this said PLACE Gallery and the artists who have studios in the space are appealing for some assistance.

Here is a letter from Gia Ray and Gina Quaranto from PLACE Gallery asking for support to rebuild.

I'm sad to announce that due to current events Place Gallery is not going to be open on First Friday. Our building is under uninhabitable conditions due to our missing store front windows, non working air conditioners and structural damage, our location might have to close it's doors for good.

Artists of Place Gallery are asking the artists of 18b to donate artwork for "Picking Up The Pieces" - Benefit for Place Gallery being held at Alios Gallery August 6th. Vegas Valley Paranormal Team and many artists have donated pieces already and gift baskets and gift certificates have been collected for a raffle.

If you would like to donate artwork, please make arrangements on delivering your work to Gina or Gia at Place Gallery before Thursday so everything is ready for the benefit on Friday. Together we can make a difference in our artist community and save our culture and the arts of 18b! Every donation is very much appreciated!

*Also Place Gallery show LVSK8 Extended Replay is also going to be moved and will be shown at Alios Gallery on First Friday. If you have already picked up your deck and would like to show it again please also drop it off this week so it can be hung for Friday.
